Rick Romano, Owner

I am 69 years old and one of the owners of Western Wood Services. I graduated High School and have 2 years of Post Secondary education. I have worked in the retail, logging, mining, and construction industries but have spent the last 17 years as a Structural Wood Engineer. In this industry I have contracted for Fortis Alberta, BC Hydro, Genics, Enmax, and Sask Power.

Corey Romano, Owner

I was born and raised in Cloverdale, BC. Throughout my life I have been an active person enjoying all forms of outdoor recreation. As a child and into adulthood I have greatly enjoyed playing sports such as Rugby, Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer. I enjoyed success and great friendships with teammates in all sports. I also enjoy other outdoor activities such as hiking and camping. As a career, pole inspections completely fell into my lap, but after 1 day on the job I was sold. Working up a sweat in the outdoors was an easy thing for me to get used to. While liking the job and good money, it was an easy decision to make this my career. Teamwork is a big part of the job and something that means a lot to me. I feel lucky to be a part of this team and great group of people.

Sam Van Ieperen, Owner

In the Summer of 2006 I was fortunate to join the pole inspection team at Western Wood Services. I fell in love with the job and a few years later became a part owner. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time testing and treating wooden power poles for power companies in BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. I enjoy traveling and the outdoors, and this career helps fulfill these passions.

Interests outside of work include golfing, swimming, and being a fanatic of my favorite sports teams. I am single and a resident of Langley, BC when work doesn't have me traveling all over Western Canada.
